Parbatya Chattagram Mahila Samiti
Parbatya Chattagram Mahila Samiti (PCMS) is women wing organisation of the Parbatya Chattgram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) struggling for rights to self-determination in Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh. The PCMS was founded on 10 August 1975 with aim to establish exploitation and class-free society.
The Central Representative Conference of the PCMS, which is convened every 3 years, is the supreme body of the organisation which elects a Central Committee accountable to it. The Central Committee is the highest organ of the PCMS during the interval between two Central Representative Conferences.
A 25-member Central Committee was elected by the 9th Central Representative Conference of the PCMS (March 2011). The PCMS has branches in three hill districts, thanas (upazilas) and unions in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT). Besides there are village committees in all over the three hill districts.
At present, Ms. Jarita Chakma is the president of the PCMS while Ms. Suprava Chakma and Ms. Moni Chakma are working as general secretary and organising secretary of the PCMS respectively. The contact address of the PCMS is as follows:
