A Jubo Samity (Youth Association) leader killed by UPDF terrorists in Barkal
On 18 January 2011, at around 10:45 pm General Secretary of Juba Samiti (Youth Association, an youth wing of PCJSS) of Barkal upazila Mr. Bikram Chakma alias Bakro (36) s/o Niranjoy Chakma of village- Ludibash Chara of 4 Bhushan Chara union under Barkal upazila of Rangamati hill district was shot by a group of UPDF terrorists.
It is learnt that at first the terrorists numbering 6 came to the house of Mr. Bikram Chakma and then picked him up to the bank of lake of Karnafuli. Bikram Chakma’s wife also followed them and appealed to release her husband. But, within a few minutes the terrorists gunned Bikram Chakma down touching barrel on chest before his wife.  Bikram Chakma left two innocent children including his wife.
It is learnt that besides he was a political activist, he was also president of local Dhanu Bagh govt. primary school managing committee as well as assistant general secretary of Ludibash Chara Bana Vihara branch.

A UP member kidnapped in Longadu
On 17 January 2011, at around 10:30 pm a current UP (union parishad) member named Jyotish Kanti chakma of village- Pera chara of Atarak chara union under Longadu upazila of Rangamati hill district was kidnapped at gunpoint from his own house by a group of unidentified terrorists numbering 7/8. The villagers assume that the so-called Reformists did this.
On 18 January 2011, family members made a phone call to the mobile remaining with Jyotish Kanti chakma. The phone call was received by one of the unknown terrorists who said that if taka 300,000/-(three lakh) was not given to them within 19 January 2011 he (kidnapped person) would be killed.
Latest report: family members of the kidnapped person are trying to contact with the kidnappers through mobile. According to family source, though the kidnappers said to give them taka three lakh as ransom, but they are not giving any certain venue for meeting. Even, in the meantime, the kidnappers informed the family members through mobile phone that funeral ceremony should be done if the kidnapped person does not return to home within a week.
